LISTENING IELTS

- The skill of listening is one that is developed by PRACTICE and there is not much a teacher can say to improve a student's ability at it.  PRACTICE is the key.

- 4 sections = 40 câu hỏi = 10 câu/section

- Section 1-2 are based on social survival in an English-speaking country

- Section 3-4 are based on a more educational and training orientation.

- 30 phút nghe băng + 10 phút viết câu hỏi vào answer sheet

• Section 1: A CONVERSATION between 2 people = 2 parts.
• Section 2: A MONOLOGUE (may include a 2nd speaker asking questions -> to stimulate the monologue. = 2 parts.
• Section 3:  A CONVERSATION between 2, 3 or 4  people = 2 parts
• Section 4: ~s2

 - The listening recording is played once only.

Listening to a voice without the speaker(s) being present

• TV: good (can see the speakers-->turing your back to the TV)

• Dùng thời gian bắt đầu và giữa mỗi section (~20 giây) để đọc câu hỏi thật kỹ. You should know in advance all the question before you hear the recording.

• Đọc câu hỏi và đoán loại câu trả lời có thể xảy ra. 

• TIPS and Ideas 

• Trả lời tất cả câu hỏi mà bạn nghe được/ko chờ đợi, ko tự nhớ vì ko thể nhớ nổi và dễ mắc lỗi.

• Viết câu trả lời trên đề bài và 10 phút sau đủ time để transfer sang answer sheet: Tập trung và dễ sửa lỗi.

• Don't panic if you miss an answer. Worrying and panicking is only going to make you miss another one.

• Đừng bao giờ bỏ trống câu trả lời; đặc biệt là câu hỏi nhiều lựa chọn => ĐOÁN
